Mark Knopfler holding the audience in the palm of his guitar
Fantastic video.
Knopfler, like Paige before him, was a top session guitarist. When this song won the MTV Video of the Year in '85, an animation, we knew we were witnessing a paradigm shift. I mean, look at the vid. Wow. The olden times, huh?
Jamiroquai, Well... This is Just Bizarre

4 Non Blondes - What's Up?
Artist Pink's single, "Get the Party Started" was written and produced by Linda Perry, which went top five in the U.S. and many other countries, and number one in Australia. At the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, the music video won in the categories of Best Female Video and Best Dance Video.

Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson - Scream
The music video for "Scream", directed by Mark Romanek and production designer Tom Foden, is one of Jackson's most critically acclaimed. In 1995, it gained 11 MTV Video Music Award Nominations — more than any other music video — and won "Best Dance Video", "Best Choreography", and "Best Art Direction". The song and its accompanying video are a response to the backlash Jackson received from the media after being accused of child molestation in 1993. A year later, it won a Grammy for Best Music Video, Short Form; shortly afterward Guinness World Records listed it as the most expensive music video ever made at a cost of $7 million. -Wikipedia

Thank you for the promote. I too remember the early CHEESY MTV videos. First time I heard this was from a DJ at a party in someone's backyard.

yeah, you guys are on the wrong *ban wagon...
WTF.. This one is lame. The discussion should have been about uploading content.. And it's not necessarily like the person was trying to create popular #1 YT user of the year. I think stuff like this is lame.
Choggie, save this for people who have ten HEAD ON ads from one acct. Or stuff that is more exciting than genereic MTV videos.
Leftfield - Release The Pressure
Farhad - you shouldn't talk of things you don't understand. When the album was first released (over here in the UK) there was nothing like it, in the same way there's nothing like Rhythm & Stealth today. If you owned the album (or were around at the time), you'd know that the original version is nearly 8 minutes in length - a little too long for an MTV video (great copy/paste skills on the description - although you left a line break in there by mistake).
UNKLE: Rabbit in Your Headlights (featuring Radiohead's Thom Yorke; directed by Jonathan Glazer)
What makes it stupid is that the year this video came out, MTV didn't even nominate it for an award.
Which is further proof that MTV sucks ass, and the MTV VIDEO Music awards, don't award videos but the crap-ass band of the moment.
Nirvana: Heart-Shaped Box (by Anton Corbijn)
This video won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Alternative Video in 1994.
You've seen music videos directed by Anton Corbijn. See the list Wikipedia has:
